New Accounts

Application Process

New owners must apply for a water service account by completing the New Owner Water Service Application (PDF), the Water Service Application SSN Attachment (PDF) and pay a deposit. The forms should be returned with your deposit by mail or dropped off at Town Hall. If forms are emailed or faxed without deposit payment, the deposit will be added to your first bill.

All water service accounts will be in the name of the owner of the property per Dare County Tax Records.

The Town may reject any water application for service if the applicant has any outstanding water accounts at any location within the Town.

Water Deposit

A deposit in the amount of $25 per bedroom is due at the start of service and will be on the first water bill if not received prior to start of service. This deposit is held in escrow for the duration of the account. Deposits are required for each piece of property owned by the property owner. Water accounts are billed six times per year based on the rates established in the Consolidated Fee Schedule (PDF). The fee schedule also details any other charges for new taps, etc.
