Board of Commissioners Meeting Information

Nags Head's Board of Commissioners meets the first Wednesday of each month at 9 am and recesses to a meeting held on the third Wednesday of the month at 5:30 pm (October - March), or at 7:00 pm (April - September), when necessary.

Four-wheel drive, state inspected vehicles with a proper Town permit are allowed on the beach in both Nags Head and Kill Devil Hills from October 1st through April 30th each year.

Beach Pit Fires
Beach pit fires are allowed on the beach in the Town of Nags Head with a permit. Permits are issued between 5:30 p.m. and midnight daily based on current wind speed and fire danger conditions. Permits are valid the day of issue only, through midnight, and are valid only within the Town of Nags Head.
