Dowdy Park Summer Farmers Market

The Dowdy Park Summer Market takes place from mid-June through mid-August. To ensure a positive experience for both vendors and visitors, each market is capped at approximately 50 vendors, with limited overlap between dates. Market scheduling and capacity are influenced by the local school calendar, as the size of the market requires use of the adjacent school parking lot for both vendor and visitor parking.

Vendor Application and Selection

Each February, vendors who participated in the previous season are contacted to confirm their interest in returning. This process helps identify how many spaces may be available for new vendors.

When space allows, application details are shared in mid-April on the Dowdy Park Facebook page and the Town of Nags Head website. Applications are typically open for a brief period of approximately two to four days. All submissions are reviewed, and new vendors are selected by the Arts & Cultural Committee based on available space and established selection criteria.

Please note that only vendors approved through this process are permitted to sell at the market.

Fees and Market Considerations

The vendor fee for participation in the summer market is $240 for the full season. As the market has expanded, the application and coordination process has become increasingly detailed, particularly due to parking limitations. When openings are available, producer and consumable vendors may receive priority consideration to help maintain a balanced vendor mix.
