McKim & Creed, the contractor responsible for our annual beach monitoring, is scheduled to begin a special interim survey on Friday, October 31.
Their team will perform both land-based and water-based measurements, using a pickup truck marked with the McKim & Creed logo and a Kawasaki side-by-side mule.
For the water-based portion of the survey, they will operate a 26'–28' survey vessel to collect offshore data. During this process, the vessel may operate close to the shoreline. Don't be alarmed if you see it near the beach.
The survey is expected to take approximately 5–6 days to complete, weather permitting.
