Easter Egg Hunt March 30 at Dowdy Park at 10 am

Join us Saturday, March 30 at 10 am at Dowdy Park for a day filled with joy, laughter, and egg-citement for the whole family! We have separate hunts planned for the little ones aged 1-5 and the older kiddos aged 6-10, ensuring a basketful of fun for everyone.

  • Bring your own baskets to fill with candy and prizes
  • Meet local law enforcement
  • Car seat checks will be available for questions or concerns

Dowdy Park is located at the corner of South Croatan Highway and East Bonnett Street. See you there!

The new bathhouse at the Epstein public beach access should be ready by Memorial Day!

You may have noticed that the bathhouse at the Epstein public beach access (just south of town hall at 5701 South Virginia Dare Trail) is getting a makeover. 

The new building will feature upgraded facilities, improved amenities, and a design that harmonizes with the old Nags Head style architecture, promising an unforgettable beach environment. We appreciate everyone's patience during the renovation.

Look for the new bathhouse and the access to reopen around Memorial Day!

 
South Croatan Highway Paving Taking Place

The North Carolina Department of Transportation contractor, The Fred Smith Company, is moving quickly on their paving project in the north end of Nags Head, between Hollowell and Eighth Streets on South Croatan Highway.

Lane closures in the construction area will continue to take place over the next week or so. The traffic signal contractor will follow behind the paving to ensure all signal work is completed.

Please slow down and be extra cautious when traveling in the active construction area. 

The project schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather or extenuating circumstances that can result in construction delays.
Dowdy Park Winter Markets

There are only two Dowdy Park winter markets left! 

  • Saturday, March 9 | 9 am - 12 pm
  • Saturday, April 13 | 9 am - 12 pm

The park is located at 3005 South Croatan Highway and parking is available at Nags Head Elementary School.
Coffee to-go cups are not recyclable.

Do you enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning?

Remember: disposable cups do not belong in your recycle bin. We suggest using a reusable cup or disposing of it in your trash can.

If you don't have time to haul your recyclables to the recycling centers we have at town hall (5401 South Croatan Highway) and our public services facility (2200 Lark Avenue), subscribe to the curbside recycling collection service offered by TFC Recycling. The cost is only $10.33/month thanks to a $5/month subsidy from the Town.
