Storms to Bring Dangerous Surf and Other Impacts This Week

We are closely monitoring two storms that will likely impact our area the week of August 28, 2023. 

As of August 28, 2023, Hurricane Franklin is forecasted to bring dangerous surf to our area starting today, August 28. We expect the red, "No Swimming" flags will be flying nearly all week.  

Later in the week, Tropical Storm Idalia is forecasted to bring dangerous surf and rain to the Outer Banks. Impacts may be felt as early as Wednesday night. The forecast track may change, but remember impacts can be felt far from the storm's center.
