It hasn't been our week, concert-wise. Mamma's Black Sheep had to cancel their concert for tonight due to illness. Our event coordinator, Paige Griffin, worked hard to schedule another band, the Dixie Dawgs. Unfortunately, they are traveling a few hours to get here and with storms in the forecast, we decided jointly to cancel tonight's concert. 

The good news is that Mamma's Black Sheep has been rescheduled for September 6. And, don't forget, Mercy Creek will lighting up the stage August 23 and SoulOne will play August 30. All shows are scheduled to begin at 6:30 pm. 

Dowdy Park is located at 3005 South Croatan Highway. If you have to drive, please park in the lot at Nags Head Elementary School. 

Tomorrow is our last summer farmer's market at Dowdy Park, so be sure to stop by from 9 am to 1 pm.

Our last Family Fun night for the season will be held Tuesday, August 22, 2023 from 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm. 

Don't forget free yoga classes every Tuesday at 7:30 am through October 31.

Be sure to grab the kids and head to Dowdy Park for our last Family Fun night for the season. The event will be held Tuesday, August 22, 2023 from 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm. We'll have a fire truck, music from Nature Out Loud, popcorn, mini snowcones, and games, as well as fun arts and crafts. Please park at Nags Head Elementary School.

What goes up? must come down?. When balloons are released, they eventually make their way back to the ground, landing in trees, on the beach, or in our waterways, becoming a hazard to marine and wildlife.

Balloons are not recyclable and are damaging to the recycling process. These types of plastics cause contamination, and the strings attached tangle and break machinery.

During your next celebration, opt for a more eco-friendly choice such as paper lanterns, paper pinwheels, or ribbon wands.

If you don't have time to haul your recyclables to the recycling centers we have at town hall (5401 South Croatan Highway) and our public services facility (2200 Lark Avenue), subscribe to the curbside recycling collection service offered by TFC Recycling. The cost is only $10.33/month thanks to a $5/month subsidy from the Town.
