If you missed the 82nd Airborne Division Band and Chorus, we're sorry, really sorry, but we are having another free concert at Dowdy Park this Wednesday, August 9 at 6:30 pm. Bring your chairs, blankets, coolers, and picnics and enjoy the sounds of Justin Trawick and The Common Good.

Thanks to Stan White Realty & Construction for their support of this concert.

Dowdy Park is located at 3005 South Croatan Highway. If you have to drive, please park in the lot at Nags Head Elementary School.

Free concerts at the park will continue every Wednesday through August 30.

Don't forget we have two more farmer's markets at Dowdy Park, every Thursday from 9 am to 1 pm  through August 17.

Also, we have free yoga classes every Tuesday at 7:30 am through October 31.

Look for news about additional Dowdy Park events in the fall and winter. We'll post the information to NagsHead.NC.gov/DowdyParkEvents, in this email, and on the Dowdy Park Facebook page.

See you there!

Be prepared for hurricane season by knowing what to do during a storm. Whether you’ve evacuated or are sheltering in place (if Dare County calls for an evacuation, we DO NOT suggest sheltering in place; instead we suggest evacuating), know what to expect from the hazards you may face. Remain vigilant, stay up-to-date with the latest forecasts and alerts, and continue to listen to local officials.

Be sure to sign up for for emergency alerts from Dare County and its municipalities, including Nags Head.

Also, you should already have your re-entry permit in case we have a mandatory evacuation this season. If not, visit the Dare County web site for more information.

Cartons are easy to recognize and are available in two types: shelf-stable and refrigerated. Both types of cartons are recyclable. Be sure to place them in your curbside recycle bin.

Can cartons be recycled?

Yes, and you can leave the cap on!

Cartons are easy to recognize and are available in two types: shelf-stable and refrigerated. Both types of cartons are recyclable. Be sure to place them in your curbside recycle bin.

Thanks for recycling right!

If you don't have time to haul your recyclables to the recycling centers we have at town hall (5401 South Croatan Highway) and our public services facility (2200 Lark Avenue), subscribe to the curbside recycling collection service offered by TFC Recycling. The cost is only $10.33/month thanks to a $5/month subsidy from the Town.
