Join us as we honor of our nation’s veterans on Monday, November 11, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial in front of the Nags Head Municipal Complex, 5401 S. Croatan Highway (across from Douglas A. Remaley Fire Station 16).

The guest speak will be Phil Webster (Nags Head's police chief), a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.

There are NO changes to the residential and commercial trash and recycling collection schedule due to the Veterans Day holiday on Monday, November 11, 2019. However, the bulk item/brush drop off yard will be closed that Monday.  

Road Work Ahead

NC12 South of Whalebone Scheduled to Reopen November 11

According to the National Park Service, as long as the weather holds, a 4.5 mile stretch of NC 12 from the entrance to Cape Hatteras National Seashore to the entrance of State Road 1243 (South Old Oregon Inlet Road) that has been closed since October 28 for paving, will reopen as planned on Monday, November 11. 
Marathon/Half Marathon in Nags Head Sunday, November 10, 2019

Running Events in Nags Head, Sunday, November 10

Running events will impact traffic in Nags Head on Sunday, November 10, 2019. 

A half-marathon, however, will start at 7 am on Baltic Street in Nags Head. This area will be congested until the start of the race. 

In addition to Baltic Street, please watch for runners on Nags Head Woods Road, South Croatan Highway south of the YMCA (West Blue Jay Street), Soundside Road, Deering Street, and several streets in the Village of Nags Head.
