As Dorian Comes Closer...

  • Remember there is a curfew in Nags Head from 8 pm tonight until 12 pm tomorrow.
  • Remember it is unsafe to walk in the sound when the water has receded because it can come back very quickly once the winds switch to the west as the storm passes by us.
  • You can park your cars at Nags Head's Town Park. Turn west onto Barnes Street at the Ace Hardware and the park will be on the left. Parking is also available at the Old Outer Banks Medical Center, which is just past Town Park on the left.
  • Don't drive in floodwaters.
  • We are still expecting significant flooding from storm surge and rainfall. We will put barricades on flooded streets when it is safe for our personnel to do so.
