Your Help is Needed TODAY

Legislation has been included in the state budget that would allow any AFFORDABLE  HOUSING DEVELOPMENT funded by Dare County to be EXEMPT FROM MUNICIPAL  PLANNING AND ZONING REGULATIONS.

This means that for ONLY TOWNS IN DARE COUNTY, there would be no control of the height, size, density, setbacks, etc. of affordable housing projects, even if they are developed within a town’s limits.

Members of Nags Head's Board of Commissioners are reaching out to our state legislators, asking them to remove or repeal section 24.8 of the 2023 Appropriations Bill.
