Mosquitos are more than just annoying pests—they also pose a potential health hazard for humans and animals due to the diseases they can carry and transmit, such as West Nile Virus and Eastern Equine Encephalitis. To help suppress the mosquito population and reduce the risk of residents and visitors contracting a mosquito-borne disease, the Dare County Public Works Department operates the Integrated Mosquito Management Program. Watch as Vector Control Supervisor Mac Gray provides an overview of the program as well as valuable information on how you can reduce the mosquito populations in your area.
