All Town of Nags Head administrative offices will be closed on Friday, November 11, 2022.
The only change to the residential sanitation collection schedule is that the green route trash was collected on Thursday, November 10 instead of on Friday, November 11 as usual.
The above is the same for the commercial schedule. Instead of commercial trash being collected on Friday, it was collected on Thursday.

Unfortunately, the waves and wind this week have caused unsafe conditions for beach driving. While we have reopened part of the beach to driving today, from Nags Head Pier south to our southern corporate limits, after closing it earlier this week, we may have to close the beach again to driving tomorrow.

Water System Flushing Update Monday, November 14, 2022 - Friday, November 18, 2022 Water flushing will be taking place in south Nags Head from Whalebone Junction (Gulfstream Street) south to the Oregon Inlet marina. We will be flushing our water system to remove sediment and other deposits that can build up over time. If not removed, these materials may cause water quality deterioration, taste and odor problems, or discoloration of the water. Water may also stagnate in lesser used parts of the distribution system. This can result in degraded water quality. Work typically takes place between 8:30 am and 4:00 pm. When we are flushing the water lines in your area, you may observe any or all of the following conditions: In addition, you should raise the lever on automatic ice makers and to check the water quality prior to washing clothes or running automatic dishwashers. The schedule may change due to emergencies and other workload priorities. If you have any questions, please call 252-441-1122.

The Outer Banks Visitors Bureau would like residents and non-resident property owners to share their thoughts regarding the future of the Outer Banks.
The Outer Banks Visitors Bureau is embarking on a process to develop a Long-Range Tourism Management Plan for the community. In creating this plan, it is critical for all voices to be heard, including the voices of our residents and non-resident property owners.
We know that tourism development can have both positive and negative implications for the quality of life of residents and property owners. The Outer Banks Visitor Bureau's goal is to listen to all voices and create a shared vision for making the Outer Banks an even better place to live and work while continuing to make it an appealing place to visit.
Please consider taking 10-15 minutes to complete a quick survey. Survey responses are anonymous, and your email will not be used for any other purposes.

Can you recycle your spray bottles? Yes! - Rinse the bottle of all liquid.
- Remove the spray nozzle. The metal coil inside is not recyclable.
- Place the bottle without the nozzle in your curbside recycle bin.
If you don't have time to haul your recyclables to the recycling centers we have at town hall (5401 South Croatan Highway) and our public services facility (2200 Lark Avenue), subscribe to the curbside recycling collection service offered by TFC Recycling. The cost is only $9.60/month thanks to a $5/month subsidy from the Town.
