Styrofoam is found everywhere during summer. Packing material, carryout containers, cups, coolers, and more. Though convenient, Styrofoam is not recyclable in Virginia, is not biodegradable, and very harmful to wildlife.
Alternatives to Styrofoam are: - Choosing paper when available.
- Bringing reusable options.
Help reduce mass production by saying no to Styrofoam.
If you don't have time to haul your recyclables to the recycling centers we have at town hall (5401 South Croatan Highway) and our public services facility (2200 Lark Avenue), subscribe to the curbside recycling collection service offered by TFC Recycling.
