East Bonnett Street Closure, Monday, March 29

East Bonnett Street from Dowdy Park's easternmost entrance east to South Wrightsville Avenue will be closed Monday, March 29 starting at 9 am until a waterline replacement is complete. One lane of South Wrightsville Avenue will remain open.

All of East Bonnett Street will remain open on Monday morning for school traffic. The closure will not begin until 9 am. After that time, entry into Nags Head Elementary School will be via South Wrightsville Avenue or by parking at Dowdy Park and walking to the school.

Please keep in mind this work could continue into the afternoon when school finishes for the day.

Sand Fence Installation Underway

The Town of Nags Head sand fence installation project is currently underway. Crews are installing one row of sand fence in the public trust area of the ocean beach, and will be working for the next 2-3 weeks. The project footprint for 2021 is from just north of June Street, in south Nags Head, continuing five to six miles north, ending between Enterprise and Dune Streets.
