Vehicular Beach Access Changes to Admiral and Bladen Streets

Due to public safety reasons, the Admiral Street public beach access in the 2600 block of South Virginia Dare Trail is now closed to non-emergency vehicles wishing to drive on the beach. However, the Bladen Street public access, to the south, in the 3200 block of South Virginia Dare Trail, is now open for vehicles to enter and exit the beach. Four-wheel drive, state inspected vehicles with a proper Town permit, which costs $25, are allowed on the beach in both Nags Head and Kill Devil Hills from October 1st through April 30th each year. For more information on driving on the beach in Nags Head, visit nagsheadnc.gov/beachdriving. Both accesses remain open to pedestrians.

The Housing Opportunities and Prevention of Evictions (HOPE) Program is a new statewide initiative that may provide rent and utility assistance to eligible low- and moderate-income renters experiencing financial hardship due to the economic effects of COVID-19. The new program will help prevent evictions and utility disconnections in order to promote housing stability during the ongoing pandemic.

HOPE is an initiative of the NC Office of Recovery and Resiliency, a division of the North Carolina Department of Public Safety. The HOPE Program is funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Community Development Block Grant program – Coronavirus and the U.S. Department of the Treasury Coronavirus Relief Funds.
