Interested in a Subscription-Based Curbside Recycling Service?

We have found that many of our homeowners would like to continue a curbside recycling collection service. The Town is researching the availability of a subscription-based curbside recycling collection service in which homeowners contract directly with a recycling hauler to have their recyclables collected.

According to a May 28, 2020 memo to Nags Head’s Board of Commissioners from Town Manager Cliff Ogburn, the Town has learned that Bay Disposal will consider such a service, but has not yet committed to a subscription program. They have asked the Town to compile a list of at least 300 potential subscribers.

The cost for the service is estimated at $15-$25 per month per household. Property owners and residents would contact the Town to be placed on a list. Once we reach the minimum number of subscribers (300), the list will be provided to the vendor and they will contact each subscriber directly to create an account and establish service.

A reminder - be especially careful when driving south on South Croatan Highway from Danube Street (MP 13.5) south to Outlets Nags Head (MP 16). We're constructing nearly 2 miles of multi-use path on the west side of the highway in this area. That's more than we've constructed over several of the past years combined, so bear with us.
