As we progress into this health emergency further, we have made a few changes to this email so that you can find the information you need more quickly. - We'll include any Nags Head-related information at the top of our emails (but not this one, obviously).
- We'll include the first paragraph or so of the latest Dare County bulletin, but then will provide a link to the full document in case you prefer to read more. Long, text-heavy emails (we know, we're totally guilty of this right now) can be overwhelming and will likely not be read, so we're stopping that.
- We need more positivity in our lives right now, so we'll do our best to include information that may make your day a little happier or may help you get through this pandemic with nothing but your seasonal allergies kicking up.
Thank you for your patience. We're committed to keeping you safe and informed.
Feel free to email our public information officer, Roberta Thuman at roberta.thuman@nagsheadnc.gov, if you have any information you think might be helpful to share in this email.
Keep up that social distancing, folks!

Latest Information from the Town of Nags Head- If you are a residential water customer in Nags Head, you may have received a call or email from us earlier today, Monday, April 6, 2020. We wanted to be sure that all of our water customers know that residential water account disconnections for nonpayment are suspended until June 1, 2020. In addition, no new penalties or late fees will be applied during this time. However, water customers are still responsible for paying for their water service. This information was sent to all of Nags Head’s residential water customers. Even if you pay your water bill on time (thank you for that), you will likely have received this communication.
- We appreciate those who have conducted their business with the Town either online or via the phone. Thank you for patience.
- The Town’s skateboard park, located on the site of the YMCA, is now closed. While the playgrounds at Dowdy Park, Town Park, and Whalebone Park remain closed, the open areas of those parks are available for exercise, such as walking. Please follow social distancing guidelines, however.

On Sunday, the Dare County Division of Public Health announced the sixth positive test result for COVID-19 in Dare County. It is possible that this individual may have acquired the virus from an asymptomatic individual, indicating community spread. The Division of Public Health will continue to report on any positive test results as soon as possible.
There are community members asking for more information on travel patterns of people who have tested positive for COVID-19. By law, patient confidentiality must be protected. In a small community such as Dare County, this means only limited information can be shared. Public health staff contacts individuals or facilities that may have had direct contact (6 feet or less for 10 minutes or greater) with an individual who tests positive as part of each contact tracing investigation.

Thanks to Round Rock, TX for this Stay Home, Stay Safe playlist. Hopefully, after reading the list, we all won't be walking around with "U Can't Touch This" playing in our heads.
