The number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the nation continues to grow. In North Carolina, there are 66 reported cases in 18 counties. No individuals have tested positive for COVID-19 in Dare County at this time.

The Dare County COVID-19 hotline is operating from 8:30 a.m to 5:00 p.m. Assistance and guidance can be provided on information regarding testing, travel restrictions, symptoms, and preparation efforts. To reach the hotline, please call 252.475.5008. 

The Dare County Control Group will meet again tomorrow morning for a briefing from Public Health officials. For the latest information on COVID-19 and links to reliable sources, please visit darenc.com/COVID19. The next bulletin will be issued Thursday,  March 19. 

Dare County
While Dare County continues to provide services for our citizens, in the interest of the health and safety of our customers and staff, face to face interaction is being limited as much as possible. While some facilities have closed (Thomas A. Baum Senior Center, Dare County Center, Fessenden Center, Parks and Recreation Facilities), other Dare County offices will remain open. Before visiting our offices, please check the website or call to verify if services can be provided online or by phone.  

Surf Pediatrics and Medicine
Surf Pediatrics and Medicine will continue to see all of their patients in their practice; for both well and sick problems. 
They will see well/ non-sick patients in the Kitty Hawk office (252-255-5321).
They will see sick patients in the Kill Devil Hills office (252-449-5200).  
They do have the ability to screen and test patients for suspected COVID-19 illness.  Please continue to call them if you are a patient to schedule an appointment or if you have any questions.

Town of Duck 
Following the mayoral declaration of a state of emergency, the Town of Duck is implementing strategies to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and to protect citizens and staff. 

Residential and commercial collections will continue as scheduled. 

The Town Hall is currently open, but we ask that you call or email before visiting. We may be able to assist you remotely. 

The Public Safety building is closed to non-emergent issues, including facility tours and the T-shirt shop. Please call or email the office to ask how we may be able to assist you remotely. 252-255-1234 info@townofduck.com. 

Non-essential Town events have been cancelled or postponed until April 15. This includes beach planting, lectures, and other community events. 

Plans for the Council meeting scheduled for April 1, 2020, will be evaluated and updates shared on the Town website, E-news, and social media channels. 

Please expect face-to-face meetings with staff to be postponed or conducted electronically.

Southern Shores
NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING - Following the Mayor's declaration of a State of Emergency, the Town of Southern Shores is taking proactive steps to protect the health and well-being of our citizens and staff in the face of growing cases of the coronavirus COVID-19 both around the Nation and here in North Carolina. 
Notice is hereby given of a Special Meeting of the Southern Shores Town Council, Friday, March 20, 2020 at 3:00 PM, Pitts Center, 5377 N. Virginia Dare Trail, Southern Shores, NC 27949.

Purpose of Special Meeting
The purpose of the Special Meeting for Friday, March 20, 2020 at 3:00 pm are listed as follows: Cancel the previously scheduled March 24, 2020 budget work session; Consideration of amendments to the Council’s Rules of Procedure allowing for cancellation or rescheduling (with appropriate notice) of meetings by the Mayor or any two Council Members during declared emergencies; and Consideration of adoption of a policy for managing meetings with electronic participation of Council Members;

Nags Head
The Town continues to urge the public to refrain from entering Nags Head’s Town Hall unless there is an absolute need. Visit the Town's web site at nagsheadnc.gov for more information on conducting business with the Town either online or through the phone.  

Trash and recycling collection services in Nags Head remain on their normal schedules. 

The Town is committed to not only protecting its citizens and staff, but also to providing the highest level services possible. Thank you for your patience. 

National Park Service 
To minimize potential spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), consistent with federal, state, and local advisories, visitor centers at Cape Hatteras National Seashore, Fort Raleigh National Historic Site, and Wright Brothers National Memorial are temporarily closed, effective immediately.
Cape Hatteras National Seashore

• Off-road vehicle (ORV) permits can be purchased online at www.recreation.gov. The status of each ORV ramp and beach route can be found at http://go.nps.gov/beachaccess.
• Beachgoers should use caution in the ocean as no lifeguards are on duty at this time of year.
• The Oregon Inlet Campground, the Seashore’s only year-round campground, is closed.
• The grounds of Bodie Island, Cape Hatteras, and Ocracoke Lighthouses are open.
• The Ocracoke Island roadside cleanup scheduled for March 26 is canceled.

Fort Raleigh National Historic Site

• The grounds of Fort Raleigh National Historic Site are open.

Wright Brothers National Memorial

• The collection of park entrance fees at Wright Brothers National Memorial is suspended until further notice.
• The grounds of Wright Brothers National Memorial are open.
